Jo Stewart-Nash

Jo Stewart-Nash

Principal and Manager

Jo holds the Montessori Diploma Qualification to compliment her BA (Hons) Degree and has worked with children and families in various establishments for many years.
Before taking over Burgh Wood Montessori Nursery School in November 2016, Joanne worked for a charity focusing on vulnerable children and adults and was involved in delivering literacy, drama and parenting workshops. Joanne’s career history prior to taking time out to raise her two children involved working in the City, being actively involved with various charities and running a Beaver group for girls and boys in London.
It has always been a dream of Jo’s to run her own Montessori school and to provide a stimulating and happy environment for children to learn and play.

Caroline O'Neill

Caroline holds a Cache Level 3 qualification, a Certificate in Child Care, Leaning and Development and has worked in early years for over ten years most of which has been in the Montessori learning environment.

Caroline has a passion for children’s development by helping children to learn through trying new experiences to develop their confidence and personalities.
Caroline enjoys being mum to three wonderful teenagers and “Monty” the giant schnoodle!

Sara Miles

Sara holds a Cache Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce. Sara has over 17 years’ experience working with children in the Early Years Sector and joined Burgh Wood Montessori in May 2017 before moving to our second nursery school, The Orchard in May 2018 and a Deputy Manager. Sara has also taken an interest in forest school activities and will be working to implement this at The Orchard.
Sara is a bubbly and enthusiastic member of the Team, and particularly enjoys the creative side of early years teaching.
Sara is mum to two children and a puppy. Sara enjoys spending lots of time with her family and friends.

Subagini Patrick Lucian

Subagini Patrick Lucian

Subagini Patrick Lucian has over 25 years of experience working with young children. She graduated as a Montessori Directress in 1990, and she worked as a lecturer in the Institute of Nursery Studies, Montessori Centre in Sri Lanka.

Subagini has worked at Burgh Wood for over 10 years and her particular focus is preparing the school leavers to transition to primary schools. She also teaches German and she has a diploma in cake decorations and flower arrangements.

Subagini has a calm nature and is able to channel her energy to helping children to learn essential skills needed, as well as having fun and building caring relationships. Subagini has also taken a particular interest in our woodland sessions which are held once a week.

Subagini is happily married and has two children. She enjoys decorating wedding cakes and making flower arrangements.

Hollie Prentie

Hollie holds a Level 3 qualification, a Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools which compliments her Level 2 Diploma in Childcare, Learning and Development.

Hollie joined Burgh Wood Montessori Nursery School in October 2017 and has quickly established herself in the newly created Senco role. Hollie has recently completed the New to Role Senco training and attended a course ‘Supporting Parents with Children who have SEND needs’.

Prior to joining Burgh Wood, Hollie worked for 7 years at St Marys Catholic Infants School specialising in working with children in early years with special educational needs and English as an Additional Language.

Hollie is a mum to one very energetic little boy so she is very used to being kept on her toes. Hollie likes to keep busy and having lots of fun with her family and friends.

Katharine Harris

Katharine holds a CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Early Years Education and Care and is currently studying the Level 4 Diploma in Montessori Pedagogy. Katharine has over 6 years’ experience working with pre-school children. She joined Burgh Wood Montessori in September 2017 as a student and joined the team in March 2018. Katharine is enthusiastic and keen to inspire the children in her care with enjoyable resources making learning fun.

Hayley Lee

Hayley holds a Cache Level 3 qualification, a Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce, which compliments her NVQ Level 2 Early Years Care and Education. Hayley has over 17 years’ experience of working with young children and has been with us since December 2015. Hayley has her own key children and is a valued member of the team. Prior to joining us, Hayley worked for a number of years in a local day nursery in the baby room.
Hayley’s personal interest is focused on working with children with special educational needs and she has undertaken courses to compliment this including ‘Talking Twos: Developing Language Skills for 2-year olds’ and ‘It’s All About Me! Supporting Positive Behaviour in the under 3’s’. Hayley is dedicated to providing a safe, fun and educational environment for the children.
Hayley is a mum to 3 children and in her spare time, enjoys spending time with friends and family.
